Kindergarten registration for the 2010–11 school year is set for Wednesday, April 14 and Wednesday, April 28 at individual schools. Parents should contact their school for specific registration times. Read more.

 

Loch Lomond Parent Teacher Organization Prepares for a New School Year

    Everyone knows that school supplies consist of more than paper and pencils.  Thanks to the Loch Lomond Elementary Parent Teacher Organization, students can include maps as one of their new school supplies.   When teachers arrived at Loch Lomond in August, they were greeted by the colorful United States and World maps donated by the PTO which set aside over $4,500 for the purchase of the maps.  The purchase included wall maps as well as desk maps which will be integral in the teaching of geography, setting the context for current events and history lessons, and linking literature from other cultures into the student’s every day life.  Maps serve as the “magic carpets to far away places” and this year’s journey is underway thanks to the generosity of parents and teachers.
